Project Overview
Self-Stacking Spiral Freezer for IQF Chicken Products in Australia
Yurnfreeze provided a self-stacking spiral freezer solution for an Australian food processing application involving frozen breaded chicken products. Designed around a target processing capacity of 1,000–1,500 kg/h, the project addresses the freezing requirements of chicken schnitzels and chicken pieces for further foodservice preparation.

About the Client
Australian Foodservice and Food Processing
SushiAri is a Japanese-style sushi and casual dining brand founded in 2018, headquartered in Sippy Downs on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia. Its business operates across sushi outlets and Ari-Cha tea shops, serving customers with products including Japanese curry rice, karaage chicken, dumplings, salmon dishes and sushi rolls.

Young Food operates in IQF food processing, supplying Australian-made frozen, ready-to-cook products such as breaded and marinated chicken to commercial kitchens. Many of its products can be cooked directly from frozen, making consistent freezing and efficient production important to its processing operations.

Supporting Australian Food Processing Applications
This project represents an application of Yurnfreeze’s self-stacking spiral freezing technology in the Australian food processing market. It illustrates how industrial freezing equipment can be configured for breaded chicken products and the throughput requirements of foodservice-oriented production.
For processors evaluating a new installation or an upgrade to an existing freezing line, equipment selection should consider product type, required throughput, inlet and outlet temperatures, available installation space and integration with upstream and downstream processing equipment.
